As of September 25, we have visited eight Mary-named churches, so there are four to go!
Our church selection has led us on a fun circle around Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William counties. Now, we’re heading west and, ultimately south for our last destination at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Fredericksburg.
Two of the remaining churches on the list are in the Appalachians, which we will visit on Nov 24-25:
- Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Luray (East of I-81 east of the George Washington National Forest by Luray Caverns)
- Our Lady of the Shenandoah Catholic Mission (West of I-81 near the Lost River, west of the George Washington National Forest by Bryce ski resort)
Nov 30-Dec 2 we will complete our Jubilee Journey at the remaining two Mary-named churches in the Piedmont & Tidewater regions at:
- Our Lady of the Blue Ridge Catholic Church in Madison (along Rte 29 past Culpeper)
- St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church (Fredericksburg)
(Btw, Fredericksburg is technically at the geographic transition from Piedmont to Tidewater regions… but we’ll be staying on the east side of the river, so going with Tidewater.)
We might be a little late for leaf-peeping, but we’re always on time for Our Lady!
